Title: S1 Fascia Panel trade or WTB and FS
Post by: LotusEuropa on Friday,October 18, 2024, 09:50:08 AM
Hello everyone,

Perhaps there is a way to create a win-win situation.
The previous owner of my S1 bought the pictured panel for the restoration of the interior. As I have decided not to fit a radio but to use the original blanking plate instead, this is not the panel I need as the cut-out is larger than the blanking plate. What I need is the version with the “small radio cutout” and the ashtray cutout.

Does anyone maybe have the version I need and is willing to swap it with me?
If not, my fascia is for sale and I'm looking for the version I need.

This is the version I am looking for (taken from Facebook Marketplace). I will buy it from the seller there if noone here is selling one.

Regards

Are there any laser cutting companies near you?  It might be an option.

On this side of the Atlantic we have a company called Send Cut Send, all you need to do is create a CAD file of the piece, upload it, select material, enter a few more things (deburring, tapping, bending etc), and you end up with an instant quote.

I was basically going to copy that Facebook listing's drawings in a few months, as I need to do the same with my S1 and get the RetroSound Europa radio faceplate to fit right. If you're willing to wait a little I'll post the .step and .dwg files here with all of the variants for cutouts.

SCS is great, there are some competitors like FabWorks that can be even cheaper too. I have a CNC router in my garage that does aluminum great, but when those sites are barely more expensive than the stock it only makes sense for real big parts.

I will get the quote for the panel I need, and if the price is reasonable, I will probably accept it.
There are also companies that do this in Germany. It would be interesting to know the cost.

The asking price was very fair in my opinion, so I will buy the panel I need from the seller in FB.
My old one is still available if someone is interested.
