Title: Is the TCS clutch setting as per the manual

I'm trying to get the  clutch bite point on my '74 TCS closer to the floor. The clutch is REALLY heavy and it's made more difficult with the bite point "up in the air". Do I  ensure the pedal is set correctly and then tighten the clutch release lever until I get the bite point I want?
Note UK RHD car.

If you loosen the cable adjuster, you will lower the "bite" point.

Two other things to be wary of, has your clutch cable got the bracket attached to the engine (good), or is it welded to the chassis (bad = clutch judder) ?

Secondly, the new cables have long adjustment threads for the two 7/16" headed nuts. They can hit the driveshaft, and therefore need shortening (after you have got the right clutch bite point).

You know when somebody brighter than you tells you something and suddenly you realise that you've been a prat? Well, Good Morning, I'm Horace Marks and I've been a prat. Thanks to JBCollier, I have realised that I have been (slightly) adjusting my clutch cable the wrong way. I hope this might explain why it is super heavy, but we'll see later today when I reverse the situation. Derrrrr! :-[
