I'm in the process of building a spare TC engine that I've had lying around for years.
The clutch spigot bearing in the crank is a 15mm ID needle roller bearing, which seems to be standard for
front engine cars. I'm assuming a larger ID bearing (17mm ish) suitable for a Renault gearbox shaft will be a direct replacement?
The ones advertised do not have any dimensions listed.

The tc spigot bearing is a two piece affair (holder and bronze bushing) pressed into the flywheel, not the crank. You might have an Elan tc maybe.

So perhaps I need a different flywheel, or the TC bushing could be fitted to the one I have?
I'll make some enquiries with QED or Burton engineering and see what they advise.

Having now checked with QED, it seems that the Europa spigot bearing can be fitted into the existing 6 bolt flywheel
and all will be well.

Your tranny input shaft must be longer than my 5 speed tranny.
My friend's tcs with a 4 speed (352) and my tcs with a 5 speed (365) both had the spigot bearing and holder in the flywheel. I don't think the input shaft would have been long enough.
I know this explicitly because when I fitted a fidanza aluminum flywheel on mine and my friend's car, The center of the flywheel had to be machined to accept the spigot bearing carrier.

I don't think so, 4 & 5 speed gearboxes for a Europa will have the same length clutch shaft, this will fit into
the spigot bearing in the flywheel.
The spare engine I have may have come out of a front engine car, in that case I assume the gearbox clutch shaft
would extend further into the crankshaft spigot bearing.

I see. I guess you need a flywheel. I have one I think since I can offer you since I changed to an aluminum flywheel.
You would have to make or buy the adaptor for the spigot bushing.
