Title: Pinstripe colourI
Post by: Triton on Friday,April 28, 2023, 06:54:43 AM
I have a Red  73 Special, could any member tell me what colour of pinstripes it would have left the factory with. I would imagine Silver or Gold.  Thanks Stuart.....

As far as I know all pinstripes were gold, though there is some evidence to suggest some yellow cars may have come with black pinstripes. The pinstripes on the Europa Specials are inspired by the JPS livery of the Lotus F1 cars of the day, which, of course, were gold. Your red car would certainly have left the factory with gold stripes.

Gold.  3/16" width.

(lots of other stuff in there...and it's a mirror of the lotus-europa.com site which Jerry Johnson, Steve Veris, Whit Davis (RIP), and others built in 2007...)

Look in the miscellaneous section at the bottom for the TCS Stripes document by Ray Rawlinson

or just print out the attachment.

You may want to google Scotchcal made by 3M.  I found this years ago a a suitable replacement . Maybe, by now they have a 3/16 replacement.
You can also try Pro Stripe.
