Title: Us S2 difference to others
Post by: Lyngeled on Saturday,July 16, 2022, 10:59:15 PM
Hi,
Is there any difference between the suspension parts of the US S2s and the non US?

Cheers
Lars

Front shocks/springs - federal spec gives higher nose.

Many years ago now, one of the UK Lotus specialists unknowingly used some federal spec shocks as patterns and sold the reproductions for quite a while as standard UK spec until somebody realised why the front end was sitting noticeably higher.

So it is only the shock length?

Cheers

Would have to check the part numbers for the front springs but I’m pretty sure the shocks are longer and the springs are different to suit.

Right. There are three different front springs called out for S1s and S2s. The first for (early, I guess. Does that also mean British and/or European?), then for Federal, then for cars after chassis #2583.
