Title: TCS front stub axles

Looking for recommendations on changing the front stub axles. Suspect I have originals, both seem in good condition. Should I magna flux or just buy new?  Any recommendations on replacements, heavy duty ones, etc... thanks

I haven’t seen a front stub axle break.  They can bend in a collision.  Easy to check, just mount them in a lathe.  There are a number of options from new replacements to uprated versions.  Uprated versions can be as original or open up other options.

First question.  Are you restoring as original?  Or??

If there's no bending or obvious damage then my question would be "why change ?"

You can fit heavier axles but then you'd be into larger bearings and possibly new hubs. I'm not sure on the latter but it wouldn't surprise me that the whole lot needed changing. If you want to fit aluminium hubs, different brakes, etc then heavier axles could be part of the package. 

But like John, I've not heard of them being a major problem on the cars. Vertical links do break/wear but that's usually down to lack of maintenance.

Just rebuilding the front suspension and while I was there maybe change them out?

The parts that bend in the front suspension most often are the arms and the uprights.  The best way to check for issues that aren't obvious is to get a proper wheel alignment.  If the "included angle" or "KPI" is off, you have a bent upright.  Same with caster and camber and the arms.
