Looking for new rear shoe return springs and notice the Spitfire and GT-6 long spring ends are off set from center, as shown in the service parts listing, sheet D11. The current used long spring I have is symmetrical side to side. Was this for the larger 1-1/4" TC brake shoes? My question is will the standard Spitfire springs work on the TCS larger rear shoes? Thanks

The rear brakes for a tcs are from a 1973 Triumph GT6 mk3. I guess the return springs for the tcs are not interchangeable with the tc gt6 mk1 and 2 drum brakes. RD Enterprises sells both sets of springs

I assume you mean the one that fits round the seal on the slave cylinder. Here's a picture of the one I fitted to my TCS recently. Hope it helps answer your question.

Thanks all. Silver Beast, what kit did you get?

I got these from ebay UK https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x4-LOTUS-Europa-REAR-BRAKE-SHOE-RETURN-SPRINGS-1966-75-/192584169797?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x4-LOTUS-Europa-REAR-BRAKE-SHOE-RETURN-SPRINGS-1966-75-/192584169797?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0).
The top springs in my photo are fine, but I'm not as happy with the lower ones as they press against the bulge in the backplate that the seating for the bottom of the shoes is riveted to. I wasn't able to find a photo showing the full setup and the springs already fitted to mine were different on both sides (auto-adjusters were also swapped). I haven't driven the car since rebuilding them as I still need to finish replacing the brake fluid, putting the cooling system back together and rebuild the carbs!
