I would like to thank everyone who helped me get my europa roadworthy i wont give names but you know who you are
my dad used to race lotus 7 in the seventies le circuits mont tremblant , grand prix trois rivières, even supporting races at le circuit gilles villeneuve
i lost my mom about a year ago my dad who’s 94 as been stuck in the house because of covid so no activities exept visits from me and my sister
he got diagnosed with blood cancer they told him hes got about two months to live
because of you guys i was able to go to his house with my europa he wanted to sit in it so i helped him in then i said you want to go around the block i went through the four gears souded like a race car after going around the block he didn’t want to get out !! he told me that car brought back such great memories of his racing days we drove all day and forgot about all the problems it was a moment a memory i will cherish forever
thanks again
in the picture you can see my dad in is lotus seven in front of a porsche

What a great post! I don’t know if I helped you but as long as you got the help you needed, I’m happy for you. That your dad got to enjoy your car with you is priceless and so are your memories of that day!
May your dad’s doctors be wrong and he lives to be a happy 104!
Even though you’ve completed your car, I hope you stick around. You could be the person who helps another guy with his car.

thank you BDA and yes you helped in making this last lap possible i wish my dad would live to 104 but his health is deteriorating very fast
and yes i will stick around don’t forget it’s a lotus learned a lot of stuff here i still have the crossflow begging to go in the engine bay i will always have something to do on the europa so i will stick around for a long time !

Fantastic. Absolutely an appropriate post.
A major reason for site is for people who appreciate the cars. Really glad you could share that appreciation with your dad and make a fantastic memory for you both together. I'm sure it'll be something you think of every time you drive the car.

Well done, CalifKid.
Look at the smile on his dial, eh.
Big cheers from the LandDownUnder.

Memories like that don't come along very often and certainly not to everyone.
"Well done you" doesn't even start to describe how much that simple act means. One of the most moving things I've read in a long time.

Hi califkid_66,
I didn't contribute to your rebuild in any way but I'm heartened just reading your post :trophy:

Merci, je prie pour la sante de votre pere. Great Europa, Great son, Great memories. My father passed before I started my Europa project. You are indeed lucky to share this milestone in your life. I am hoping to get back up to ski at Mont Tremblant this winter. Hope I can see your beauty in person.
