Title: '75 TCS project in Pennsylvania
Post by: gideon on Wednesday,April 21, 2021, 06:29:34 AM
Somebody needs to rescue this project. It seems the owner passed away and a friend is trying to sell it, but unfortunately the friend doesn't know much about it.  Does anybody on here recognise this car?

That is a very tidy looking car, mid project but lots of nice bits there!

Wow, there is a lot of top-notch work done there. The single Weber on the Twin Cam is an interesting approach.

It’s just the completed frame and mechanicals he’s selling. No body, interior, etc.  It’s a TC engine not the Zetec he thinks it is.  Seems a bit rich unless there is a lot of supporting documentation on the engine and transaxle builds.

The idea for a single Weber is interesting but it would need a “swan-necked” manifold.  Those abrupt bends would be flow killing.  Also, is there room?  The carb might be through into the fender well.

There's a body that goes with it, though the seller seems to think he should sell the body and rolling chassis separately.  I think that's nuts and he should sell them together.  Other parts aren't mentioned but I'll bet the owner had more parts stashed somewhere.  It would be a pity if they got chucked out.

The seller seems to think it has a custom frame and a Zetec engine and that you could put the rolling chassis under any Lotus you wanted.  The last is probably why he thinks it's a good idea to sell the rolling chassis and body separately and that's why I said someone has to rescue this project!

 :I-agree:
The attention to detail on the rolling chassis is impressive; it would not be unreasonable to assume that the same attention went into the internals of the engine and transaxle, that said, I would consider that a "steal" - especially if the body was included.
