Title: Europa Sales
Post by: literarymadness on Thursday,February 04, 2021, 11:40:13 PM
In the last five years of me following Europa sales, I can't remember a time where there were so few Europas for sale, Stateside on this side of the pond (in Europe it's a different story).  There are none for sale this month on Hemmings. There are none currently for sale on eBay. None currently on BAT (An S2 was just sold) and three S2s ARE for sale on Autotrader Classics, but one of those isn't currently running.  Now I know car sales move in cycles and some could come up for sale at any time. But this is the biggest drought of available Europas I have ever seen.  My guess a lot more people are restoring them and holding on to them.

Could be. A few years ago, I counted seven or eight body off restorations on this forum. I stopped keeping track but maybe it’s time for a roll call again.

Ted, curious, is that a luggage rack on the engine cover?

I thought it was a barbeque grill so the meat would be cooked when you arrive at your destination. :BBQ:

you like that? :)
it's some light weight aluminum rods for decoration the previous owner had on there.   i left it (too lazy to take it off) and figured it would generate some comments.   I like the grill comment :)
i can't imagine it being a luggage rack, just decorative, i'm sure.

I have a real soft spot for 1969 Fed-Type 54 Europas. They have the low front bumper height and weight of the Type 54 but the larger more powerful engine of the Type 65. They only brought in less than 200 before they switched over to the Type 65. I came real close to buying one before I wound up with my TCS. Here is one for sale. If I were to ever buy a second Europa, I would love one of these.
