It looks like a real pretty car - especially, the body. The dash is original and it looks like the shocks and springs are original too. And it has a four speed. Also, he mistakes his rear shocks for Chapman struts. One good thing is it has an ashtray!!  ;D

I'm not a fan of the twin downdraught Webers but that's not because I'm an originalist (duh!) but merely a prejudice of mine. I understand they work well. It also looks like he minimized his chin spoiler.

That aside, it looks like a nice car. Hopefully, he'll post a cold start and a driving video.

It looks pretty original, down to the exhaust system. It is actually a 5-speed (can tell by the rear trans hanger), but he lists it as a 4-speed with overdrive.

I tried the dual Weber 32/36 carbs as pictured on this car om my 1972 Europa. I was never able to get them running correctly. I tried running with and without the balance plate in. It never ran very well without the balance plate, and in either case it had a problem with fuel pooling in the lower bend of those intake manifolds.

I'll be curious to see how much they get for it.

Easy mistake to make. It's a four speed. It says so at the beginning of the description. Also, the 352 and 356 share the same rear hoop so the rear mounting is similar. The shift linkage is the same for both except the 365 is longer.

Both the lower front wishbones look a little beaten up.

The description clearly says 4-speed with overdrive. The transmission is definitely a 365 5-speed.

You are exactly right, s2! I read till it said 4-speed and quit. I have just never considered a 5-speed a 4-speed with overdrive. MGs have electric overdrive units and I consider those to be 4-speed with overdrive. No excuse. Thanks for the correction!

I really did see an ashtray, didn't I?!  :o

That carb set-up is crap.  The mixture path is tortured.  Prefer the Strombergs myself.  Would convert to a pair of flat-slides if I want more preformance.

Even Lotus themselves call it "overdrive".... just look at the shifter ball insert with shift pattern.    R-1-2-3-4-OD  :)

You got me, Ted! More evidence of my not paying attention. In my defense, my shift knob has the Lotus roundel rather than the shift pattern but now that you remind me, I don't think I remember that the shift pattern on the original shift knob for my car (5-speed) did say "O/D" rather than "5."

Now, I did get the ashtray right, didn't I?  :)

While looking at all the photos, I noticed several which showed actual invoices of work completed. They described the work done, prices and parts used. Also, for those interested, the sellers credit card number and expiration date. Be careful when posting information!

I think the carbs hurt the price.

It only brought $27,250. That's not terrible but I expected it bring more.
