Title: Twin Cam shift boot

Next item.  When the console was out of the car I used contact cement and glued the shift boot in place.  The glue has failed and the boot comes lose every time I use reverse or 5th gear.  So I just tuck it back into place.  Any solutions to this?

I used Carquest Silicone gasket sealant, black, to secure mine.....works well, and if the boot fails, it is fairly easy to remove.

My TCS has an aluminum plate that screws down and captures the base of the boot. It has never come loose. Do you have that plate?

Kendo, I do not  have an aluminum plate, but I will be on the lookout for something that may be a good substitute, or try to make one up.  Jerry, in the meantime I will try the black silicone gasket sealant.
