Title: Engine cover
Post by: aspares on Sunday,June 21, 2020, 11:55:34 AM
Car is back from paint going together nicely. When I got the car it did not have any rubber bumper for the engine cover to rest or close on and I would assume it should have something, there are two hole in the body where the cover closes. What does everyone use? Pictures would help if possible.

There are adjustable "stops" that go in those holes. They consist of some long bolts with rubber cushions on their ends (see picture). You'll need two washers (I use wide washers on fiberglass), a standard hex nut and a lock nut for each "stop." The standard hex nut determines the height and the lock nut locks it.

Does that make sense?

Thanks, I guess RD and others might have them.

I expect anyone would have them. That picture came from r.d.

Same buffers as used for a Triumph Spitfire bonnet.
