Please post photos of ORIGINAL, early, S1 oddie pins here.
It is my understanding that some came with key-locks and some had the "wing" style grip. Perhaps the front had the key lock while the rears the wing grip?
I bought these "reproductions" that were supposedly based on the originals (less locks and wings). I plan on silver-soldering "wing grips" to them.

The parts manual shows different pins front and rear, and the (small) illustrations seem to indicate the fronts had locks while the rears had wing grips.

From an earlier thread:

Possible confirmation that the fronts had locks while the rears had wing grips.

These are more like the Oddie pins available for British motorcycles.

The locks are standard short cabinet locks you can pick up from a hardware store. The oddie pins have a collar that is pinned to the lock cylinder.

Thanks for this John, excellent information. I had been looking at methods for securing the covers. I noticed that Oddie plates were available at Europa Engineering but their picture seems to show an Advel pip pin rather than an Oddie stud.

They are shown in their online catalog but haven't been available for years. Same with Kelvedon and others. Enquires all receive the same "tool is broken" reply.

It kills me that these were never offered in stainless.
