Wondered if any of you had seen this shot before...a little grainy perhaps...but it tells a story.
Peterson and Fittipaldi were team mates that season and before the British Grand Prix there were promos and events to attend and sometimes work for the sponsors.
The team & Mike Kimberly brought one of the early Specials all spiffed with JPS logos for the host sponsors of the Grand Prix, John Player.
The drivers were tasked with the following chores.
1. Hang out w/ the John Player Cigarette Girls for a photo shoot.
2. Thrash a perfectly new Europa to submission ( it took about 12 laps)

Very cool picture. I wish Lotus had kept the single wiper and the smaller side lights. Does anyone know when the switch to two wipers took place. I assume the larger side lights were a federal thing :confused:
It also looks like the side mirrors are mounted further forward on the doors.

I always thought the twin wipers were an export/USA item as well Joe.
All the UK ones I've seen have had the smaller front side indicators, no rear wing side indicator lamps and a single wiper system. In fact until I saw photos of Europas from your side of the pond I didn't realise there was a twin wiper system. The parts manual should tie the switchover date; I have the TC one and that lists a double wiper system for the Federal TC, so presumably at least 1972, maybe a touch earlier ?
