Title: Truing Rims
Post by: Mikey likes it! on Saturday,January 11, 2020, 05:02:50 PM
I have a high speed vibration  in my steering wheel.  After balancing my tires....   the rims seem to need truing.  My dial indicator proved my problem.  I am lookin for a wheel shop that can try up my rims...   Near Orange County, California.   Can anyone suggest a shop to make that happen ?

Are you running the Lotus Brand alloy wheels? There are lots of places that can straight wheels like those. Just search for "wheel repair" or similar. You can even find places that straighten modular wheels and if that doesn't work out, there are several places on your side of the country that make custom lips and barrels.

What car?  What wheels?  What wheel nuts?

Is the problem side to side?  Or, up and down?

First make sure they are on properly and check the face of the hub for run out.

When installing those wheels, use tapered nuts to centre the wheel and then swap in the special nuts one at a time.  Torque in a criss-cross pattern.
