It's 22.5 minutes long and in Swedish (?). Lots of good footage. Too bad he fitted a crossflow, though he still has the original engine and Else pieces.

Very nice JB. Thanks. It’s THE Else Europa from the period Autocar report and the Robinshaw book. Great to see the close up of the Else badge.
-
Thanks JB,
I had watched the video at the weekend but I will watch it again now!
(great to know that such a well-known car has survived!)

I’ve been in contact with the owner. Very nice chap. I’m trying to persuade him to join here. It was Steve Jarvis’ car. I asked him if there were any special marks on the cam shaft that would identify it as an Else one. He kindly sent me some photos. One has 151 PE and the other is 030 F03.

Hi! The “chap” from Sweden with the Else is now on the forum. The reason why the car is fitted with the cross flow is that the Else motor needs overhauling. A well known problem with the Else motor is that one of the cylinders don’t get enough fuel and that happened to my motor. The cross flow is a “ beast” made by a 90 year old Gordini Guru and delivers 170 Bhp at 8000 rpm so it moves! Please ask me some questions about the car if you want to I’m new on the forum and would like to know you all!

Jakob

:Welcome: Jacke!! It's nice to have the owner of a "famous" car on here! I know we'd all love to see more pictures of your baby!

:Welcome: Awesome Europa!!!

Hello Jakob!
:Welcome:

I didn’t know the car was famous? I wish you all could Swedish so you understood the video posted on YouTube but maybe it will get subtitles. I’m speaking of the cars history and how it came to Sweden and then we went for a drive. I didn’t want to rew 8000rpm because I have an issue with the electric fuel pump who is disturbing the tachometer when it’s pumping fuel but we are moving pretty good in the video but you should be aware of the moose’s when you’re driving a Europa in Sweden;)
-
Surely you'd go right under any moose?
;-)
-
I would think so to even if the Swedish are smaller than the Canadian moose!
-
Yet another :Welcome: Jacke!
Beautiful car. We'd love to know more.

:Welcome: That is one stunning looking Europa you have. I love a yellow Europa but with the black I think it adds a lot. That cross flow motor sounds like it would be a lot of fun in an S2 and surprise the Twin Cam guys.

Hi Jakob,
I’m so glad you joined. I was contacted by another Else owner from your YouTube video! Hopefully he will join as well. Thanks for the photos you sent me.

I wish you all could Swedish so you understood the video posted on YouTube but maybe it will get subtitles.
I think I found a way to add subtitles on your video. On the video, click the "settings" icon in the lower right of the video. A menu will come up. Click on "Subtitles/CC Off>." Another menu will pop up. Click on "Add Subtitles/CC." A new tab (or possibly a new window will pop up. It will have your video on the left. On the right it says to "Select language." It gives the choice of choosing Swedish or English, or to choose from 191 other langues. Choose English (obviously! :) ). It will then put your video on the right and there will be boxes to put the captions in on the left. It looks like It first gives you an opportunity to translate the title that shows at the beginning of the video, then when there is talking, it seems to go to successive boxes for you to put the translated caption.
It may require a little playing around with it but it seems pretty straightforward. I'd really appreciate it if you give it a try. I think we'd all like to hear what's being said!
-
Thanks BDA, I’ll give it a try, I watched the video and wished I could understand what was being said.

So D'man, you know Swedish?!! ;D Maybe you can help with recipes from the Swedish Chef on the Muppets! :FUNNY:
The instructions I laid out are for someone to input new captions. Maybe I should have made that more clear.
-
BDA ,
No Swedish , closest, Icelandic and Dutch, and German, I worked on their aircraft for years and read their magazines and talked to flight crews. I really miss that portion of my job. Being a ticket agent at JFK International arrivals building every day was a learning experience also. Thank goodness for hand held translators now.
I guess I misread your instructions.😏. No muppets for me yet for now, Dave and Ava and mommy shark song..

Icelandic and Dutch! I'm impressed! :beerchug:

Hi again. I’m not the owner of the video (it’s made by a fellow called “ Motornörd ”. But I will ask If he can add subtiles.
-
Thanks, Jacke! I hope he'll do it!
-
The subs are under construction!

Hi everyone! My garage is full and I have another project coming up.
It may be the Else that has to leave the garage. I think the car should return to its home country where people know what a special car it is. I don’t have any contacts in the UK but maybe someone at the forum has one or know a serious dealer/ person that can appreciate this special car.

Put it in the for sale section so people will notice it more.
