Title: Transaxle parts availability?
Post by: TurboFource on Tuesday,October 08, 2019, 05:06:42 AM
What is the availability of bearings, synchronized and seals for the transaxle in a Europa? I realize new gears are probably tough to find.

Thanks for the answers to all my questions! I just want to be in the know when I purchase a Europa!

I have not had a problem with my 365 transmission since I have owned it since 1986.  I have only replaced the synchronizers.  I have collected the following sources for Renault parts.  I have never used any of the so I can’t give them a recommendation.  I know some people have claimed to buy parts from Mecaparts.

Parts are more easily found for the 365 as it is a very desirable transaxle for Alpines.  For the other transaxles, bearings and seals are available but you may have to do a fair amount of research to get the right ones.  Gaskets can be tougher but can be made with patience.

I use 123 Bearing for almost every rebuild I do. They have a significant inventory.

I Started ordering the basic seals for a 336/56 gearbox , researching all day,I accomplished just that , all seals ordered. Even a set of gaskets. I went to three different vendors across two continents.
Tooling to remove an S2 withdrawal pad, the pad itself  and the pins are another feat.

Would really be helpful to add the above to the Vendors Storefront section
