Hello, I have my twin cam frame stripped down. I took it to a welding shop to have some soft spots touched up. My question is along the lower bottom edge on passengers side just behind the trailing arm bushing mounts, I have a dent in the frame. It is rounded and looks like it might have been intentional like to give clearance for the oil filter or something. The welder thinks it looks too good to be a dent so until I find out some information he is not going to repair it. The car came to me disassembled so I don't know if there would be a purpose for the relief/dent in the frame. If I knew how to load a photo I would. Thank you for the help.

We love pictures!👍👍
If you have an iPhone or some other types, mail the picture to yourself , a legend will pop up saying what size select below 1mb or small to medium. Open your email and save picture. Then attach that picture in your post.

Here is the photo of the chassis. If I loaded it right.

You can clearly see it's not a dent, but a properly-formed recess, with the upturned lip etc. Your twink's oil filter will be comfortable right there.

Yes, definitely clearance for the oil filter.
