The fan motor for my radiator is making bearing worn out noises. The original motor from our friends in Hethel died circa 1985 and was replaced with an exact replacement that was from Delco. This one is now sick. I do not know the part number. Does anyone know if there is an exact replacement motor currently available or do I need to modify something to fit? Suggestions?
I want to hit the road running come spring so this job comes right after NSX timing belt replacement is done...current winter project.
Thanks,
Paul

I have an "orignal" replacement fan. I bought it many years ago as a replacement for my original fan but I have to say, I don't think it looks exactly how I remember my original fan looked, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were different suppliers. It is attached to an original fan shroud. There is some surface rust but mostly it's just dirty. I just tested it and it works. If you're interested, PM me.

Very similar fans (never checked to see if they are the same) where fitted to Esprits - later Esprits had plastic multi element blades but they can be removed/swapped. - might stand a better chance of getting one of those?!

Finally got around to investigating this. Turns out that it was just rubbing a bit on the housing. A thwack with the heel of my hand and all quiet again. On to other issues so that it is driveable once the rains end.

I build a wooden mold to put into the round fan cowl (with a flat bit cut out) to get squashed cowls round again.
I have to keep the wooden mold dry as it swells up and won't fit if the wood gets wet.
I made it from 2 offcuts of 7"x2" I had lying around.

E Paul, your under good guidance however one item that may be at fault is that the at the fan to motor shaft is a small roll pin that can wear out . It’s a pin thru shaft .
