Title: A Speedo gear is born
Post by: BERNIEHUMBER on Sunday,July 15, 2018, 06:05:13 PM
HI:
I took an old speedo gear did some Solidworks modeling(SLDPRT File) used a 910 ALLOY on 3D and got what you see in the pic.
I'll have to see if Mark 1 meshes properly with its match up before I figure how I will swap the shaft to the new gear.
The 910 has a 8,100 tensile compared to 12K for Nylon 101 so I might put a piece of Nylon on a CNC and machine it from the SW file.
Got other fires in my life so it will have to sit on the back burner for a while.

That is incredible work and yet another example of how technology has moved on to get us those unreplaceable parts. Very impressed !

HI:The scary thing about AI(technology) is that 30% of the jobs that are out there now won't be in 10 years(or less).
And there won't be 30% replacements(estimates are 5%).
There is software out that designs software so it's like taking a series of mirrors and imaging them one on the next and so on.
I'm retired so what do you tell the upcoming generation to career into?
IT is a little like catching a soap bubble.

HI:
A great find.
The shaft is of a different design or do you take the gear off and put it on the old one(or does it matter?)
I just noticed after I looked at the english version and saw "Expected delivery time: unknown"
"This product is not in stock"
That doesn't bode well for availability.
