Title: Temperature sender unit

Hello all,

Lovely evening, took the TC out for a run keeping an eye on the temp guage, when I got home looked at it again and it read zero, spade had broken off the sender unit and wire was hanging off!  Just ordered a new one, are they a tapered fit and do I need any PTFE tape when fitting the new one?

Yes. I believe the electrical temp senders are tapered threads so teflon tape would be required. You should be able to verify that when you take it apart.

Sometimes, the sealant or tape will prevent the sender from getting a proper ground.

I soldered a ring terminal under the brass hex of the sender and added a ground wire to attach to a nearby bolt.
