Title: Looking for a Renault bell housing
Post by: Midnight on Wednesday,February 28, 2018, 12:22:01 PM
I'm hoping to mate my NG9 to an 807 engine, I believe that I need a bell housing for 352 or 395 transaxle. If anyone has one gathering dust anywhere, please drop me a message.

Thanks.

I have 2 different 4 speed gearboxes up in Norfolk, but I have no idea what a 352 or 395 bellhousing looks like.

Good to know there's another fellow Europa owner not too far from me  :)

The 352 or 395 bell housing has scallops moulded into the backing plate (sorry I don't know the technical term, the face that bolts onto the gearbox) it looks something like this photo where you can see the scallops, they allow the bigger crown wheel on my gearbox to mate to the bell housing.

Hi ,  you can use the bellhousing from a fuego but will need to reverse the clutch arm . This is what i have had to do with mine . One on ebay that runs out later today , with its NG3 attached .

One of mine looks just like that.

But I have to get home from London to Norfolk tomorrow, my Golf engine is frozen, Norfolk has the snow ploughs out, and her indoors cannot ever get down the driveway.

So when I can actually get to the garage, I will take photos of what I have.

Alex in Norfolk.

Crazy this snow, personally I'm not going anywhere near my lockup in this weather - arctic conditions out there. be careful

My R32 engine froze at -5'C, and stripped the alternator belt. So unfreeze the engine tomorrow with hot water (the shops have sold out of fan heaters), fit the new belt, and hope nothing was damaged by the freeze.

The R32 is 4WD, so driving on snow is fun.

yes i saw .. surprised me , especially when the box looked like it had seen more than its fair share or weather.   Hopefully Alex will have something , failing that as i say Richard was able to dig one out of his used parts mountain for me , good chance he has more .
