Title: Wheels
Post by: Runningwild on Tuesday,February 21, 2017, 11:45:28 AM
I'm looking at a VTO classic 8 wheel.  15"x6 with the right bolt pattern and a +24mm offset.  Will that work ok or will I need a wheel spacer?  I'm running the banks rear disc kit so I need at least a 14"" rim.  Any thoughts.   Thanks tom

I have the rear Banks discs with 13" wheels.

Richard inferred I should go with a bigger wheel.  Hard to find 13" tires so I thought a 15"" rim would make it easier.  However  will I need spacers with a +24 offset.  Can't find a +28 offset wheel.

Joji. That's what I'm looking at. They say a +24mm but in the spec sheet I found on the forum it said +28mm.  Only 1/8" difference but would I need a spacer for the 24mm.  Trying to figure out everything in advance.

Unless someone else has your setup and is willing to take measurements, you may be forced to figure out what you need by taking your own measurements. Make a jig with your bolt pattern and see what clearance you will need to clear the rear disc setup. This link has a pretty good explanation of offset and back/front space.

FYI, I have a rear disc conversion with a 4x108 bolt pattern and Wilwood calipers. Wheels are 6x14 Panasports. Clearance between the calipers and wheel is very close. I would have chosen 15" wheels due to larger tire selection.
