Title: Electronic ignition options.
Post by: Gmg31 on Sunday,November 27, 2016, 01:43:54 PM
When I used to restore MG there was a company that made sealed electronic ignition distributors.  Has anyone got any experience of anyone who makes a similar item for the Renault engined Europa.

I'm not familiar with "sealed" distributors. At some point, you're going to need to change the cap or rotor.

I wonder if you're not thinking of an electronic ignition? Pertronix lists electronic ignitions for 70 - 75 Europas for the 23D distributor as well as electronic guts for distributors by brand. They also make replacement 23D distributors and replacement ducellier distributors. I don't know what distributor you have, but they can probably fix you up. Here is their catalog (http://pertronix.com/catalogs/pdf/ptx/2015/Pertronix2015.pdf).
