Title: Trying to install pads in the Banks rear brake disk kit
Post by: Runningwild on Thursday,October 27, 2016, 12:31:45 PM
Having a hard time installing the brake pads in Banks rear disc kit. The pads have 2 clips in the top that I think must be squeezed together to fit in the caliper.  Then there is the piece that goes into the slot on top. Pictures will explain better than I am. The first picture is from the Internet and appears to be the set up. Any suggestions!

I am home in 24 hours, so I will look at mine and advise about the spring clips.

Mine are on a chassis detached from the shell, so easy to see.

Thanks. It's to late to call Richard and he usually doesn't work on Fridays.   Thanks again

The pads fit into the caliper mount first.  Lower the caliper and push down against the spring clips and attach the bolts to the caliper slides.  The springs just hold the pads in place.

Fit the pads with one of the 12mm bolts completely undone, so the caliper swings 180' on the other 12mm bolt.

Once the pads are snug in the correct position, the caliper can be swung 180' into position, tapped with a bit of 4x2 until the 12mm bolt lines up, then hold the bigger nut (14mm?) and tighten the 12mm bolt.

I will post photos of open and closed next week when I can reduce the file size of the photos I took to upload them on here. Max file size 1Mb.
