The car is a dark blue. All suspension parts are a royal blue like the alum around the brake assembly. All the interior fiberglass is a gray- engine bay, radiator compartment, ect. What color for the wheel wells - same gray? - black, gloss or semi gloss?
Car was originally a light blue but not sure I can afford a complete new paint job. May stay dark blue.

Engine bay

If it were me, I would do satin black in the wheel wells. I think they look better blacked out. It doesn't call attention to a part of the car you don't want to look at.
Just my $0.02.

Thanks. That sounds about right.

Dang, you are rolling with this restore!!
I agree with BDA. Satin or flat.

Do the engine compartment as well. IMO, it will look better.

After careful consideration on a recently body off paint job, I decided on black for the inner arches and engine bay. Looks great and should help keep the car looking tidy since the body is white.

I'm loving the gray engine bay. I will be doing the same to mine soon. I think satin black would look best in the wheel wells.

I opted for gloss black in the engine bay. Satin black seems to attract oil and refuses to let go of it. As for the wheel wells, if its a lighter coloured car, then yes black looks good. In my case I've gone with body colour, dark blue, though the car originally was green and there was plenty of evidence in the wheel arches of it being green.

I used SEM Hot Rod Black (HR014) with Hot Rod Reducer (HRR06) on the underbody including the wheel wells. It gives a low gloss black appearance.

Wheel well colour doesn't matter much, but I'd tend to do it white, and will definitely have a white engine bay, as it makes it easier to see leaks, dropped parts, etc
Mine is part road car, part competition car though.

I ended up doing it in the same gray as the engine bay. Like you said - makes it easier to see everything
