Title: NG3 .. what goes here question

Picked up an NG3 transmission .. There is an empty hole at back of box and not entirely sure what is supposed to be there .. reverse light switch possibly ?  see pic attached .. Any advice greatly appreciated

That doesn't look like my NG3 but I may be confused by the orientation. I'm guessing it's a plug that holds a plunger based on the attached picture. You can get the NG workshop manual (and a lot more) here: http://lotus-europa.com/manuals/ (look for Renault NG Gearbox Workshop Manual - it's near the top).

Thanks BDA .. so the reverse stop plunger possibly , but as you say it does look a bit different to the NG3 diagram

figured it out i think... reverse lockout cable ..the box is from a renault 25 and i think they had a pull up bit on the lever for the lock out.
