I ran across a very unusual Europa today.
Hispano Aleman Castilla

The same coach builder did the something similar to a Porsche 914-6
I found a picture of the 914

Personally I think the 914 turned out better

Joe.........where on earth did you find these pictures? May be a little to over the top........but not by much.

Hispano Aleman was apparently a coach builder. I was researching a variant of the Porsche 914 that this company built. In the reference material they talked about a Europa that had been built as well. In searching I found not only some old publicity photos, but a guy in Spain, I think, that actually has one of these cars. I had never heard of this before. It is a bit off the wall, but I do like some of the modification.

Joe,
start an off topic section and let's talk 914's. Not only are they fun cars but I know just a little about them......giddy up.........and maybe a little Marcos GT

The wheels shown in the side-shot in the album are pretty cool. I can't tell if they're truly unique though, or if its just the way they're trimmed/painted?

Interesting.
For what it's worth, according to this http://www.autopasion18.com/HISTORIA-HISPANO%20ALEMAN.htm (http://www.autopasion18.com/HISTORIA-HISPANO%20ALEMAN.htm) it had design input from Chapman; four disk brakes; a Porsche 5-speed; and a 1600 cc, 110 hp Seat (Spanish) motor. Seems it was much more than cosmetics, with a few features similar to what ended up in the Twin Cam Special. However it apparently never went into production.

I found a picture of the underside.

Also one of the front suspension

While reading ALL of the Garage articles I also searched for images of this and found this video on YouTube

Thanks SilverBeast: It looks a lot better in the video. The 914 version reminds me a Lamborghini Urraco.

I've never been a fan of the 914's styling but the 914-6 is said to be as fast as a contemporary 911 and to handle better. If Porsche had put that body onto the 914 they would have sold a few more.
