Title: front ventilation blower motor fitting
Post by: buzzer on Wednesday,September 30, 2015, 02:08:56 AM
I am trying to work out how the Smiths blower motor fits in the front compartment. I can see where it goes but how is it fixed, anyone got any pictures on of it in a TC would be useful.

Thanks Dave

I seem to recall bolts coming out of the blower casing, a 90' bracket, and 3 x 5/16" nuts and bolts (1/2" heads).

Dave, these pictures should help. I hope you have the large support bracket that unit bolts up to.

Thanks for the pics, I don't have the bracket, so will have to fabricate one I suspect. My TCS is RHD and the unit is mounted on the other side, but I would think the main bracket is the same.

I can see the huge hole for the cabin blower in your other thread for your car. It seems odd that Lotus would move the blower over when outlet for the radiator air flow is the same as LHD. If you look at the 4th picture, there is a "L" bracket helping to support the blower to the  radiator housing.
